Mysuru’s para athlete Ramya Shanmugam has been selected to represent India in the women’s section of the World Para Athletics Championships 2019, to be held at Dubai from Nov.3 to 15.

Ramya, who will be taking part in the Discus-Throw and Javelin-Throw events, is coached by athlete Mohan Kumar at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Mysuru.

Incidentally, Ramya had won gold in the Discus-Throw event in the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in the 10th Fazza International Athletics Championships at Dubai in 2018.

Ramya had also won silver medal in Javelin-Throw representing India in the Asian Para Games held at Jakarta, Indonesia, in 2018.
