City Police Commissioner holds Beat Citizens Council Members meeting, receives complaints

Mysuru: In a bid to make people-friendly Police more effective, a new people-friendly Police beat system has been implemented in city from Apr. 1, 2017.

Areas coming under a Police Station is divided and a Head Constable or a Constable has been made as in-charge Officer of the beat.

Every beat in-charge officer has formed a Beat Citizens Council consisting of 50 members and the in-charge officer and other Police officials of that particular Police Station will conduct a Citizen members monthly meeting to receive complaints and to provide a solution to it.

In that context, Alanahalli Police Station conducted a meeting at Doctors Bhavan in Alanahalli here last evening.

City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao, who conducted the meeting, provided information about the beat system. He called upon the public to join hands with the Police so that the Police could do their work more effectively and asked them to inform the beat officer if they find any irregularities in the beat system.

The City Police Commissioner instructed the officials concerned to receive complaints from the public and take action to provide solutions to the problems.

DCP Dr. H.T. Shekar, Devaraja Sub-Division ACP B.S. Rajashekar, Alanahalli Police Inspector G. Shekar and others were present.
