City Police intensify Corona awareness campaign

Mysore/Mysuru: In a bid to create awareness among the public on containing the spread of COVID-19, City Police have intensified their awareness campaigns across the city.

Yesterday, N.R. Sub-Division ACP M. Shivashankar, along with Inspectors and staff of all Police Stations coming under N.R. Sub-Division, created awareness near Vijayanagar Water Tank, Kalidasa Circle, Hinkal village, Hinkal Bus Stand and Yoganarasimhaswamy Temple.

The Police personnel informed the public about measures to be taken like wearing face mask, maintaining social distancing, frequent washing of hands and taking COVID-19 vaccination to avoid contracting the virus and also to prevent the spread of the disease to others. 

Masks distributed 

The Police personnel also created awareness in city buses and other KSRTC buses and advised those commuting without wearing face mask besides giving them free masks. More than 1,000 face masks were distributed among the public.

 The Cops told the public that they would be fined if they do not follow COVID-19 guidelines. Fines were collected from those who showed negligent attitude by not wearing face mask.

On Mar. 31, Saraswathipuram Police, led by K.R. Sub-Division ACP Poornachandra Tejaswi, conducted awareness programme in Saraswathipuram and surrounding areas by holding COVID-19 awareness rally.

Inspectors and staff of all Police Stations in K.R. Sub-Division, held this programme in association with Kamakshi Hospital. The jatha started near Saraswathi Theatre and culminated at Saraswathipuram Police Station during which the Police personnel distributed pamphlets with safety messages to general public, shopkeepers and others. The citizens were warned that fine will be levied on those who fail to wear mask.
