Mysore/Mysuru: A team of artists from city created three important records by drawing a mammoth Rangoli in front of sanctum sanctorum of Mantralaya’s Sri Raghavendraswamy Mutt within a short duration.

“By drawing a mammoth Rangoli of about 36,200 square feet, they have created three important records,” said artist S. Puneethkumar while speaking to press persons at Patrakarthara Bhavan in city recently.

The team left for Mantralaya on May 7 and offered puja at the Mutt and next day at 5 pm started drawing the picture of Sri Raghavendraswamy. But the rains washed out their efforts. The team met the same fate for the next three days too because of the heavy rains.

Undeterred, they finished drawing the Rangoli picture of Sri Guru Raghavendraswamy sitting on a lotus with the backdrop of Brindavan at 10 am. Through this, their effort has been included as a record in India Book of Records, Harvard World Records and Asia Book of Records, concluded artist Puneethkumar.

Members of the record creating team C. Lakshmi, Puneeth Rayanna, M. Manjunath, S. Sonakshi, Supreeth Chandan, Ravi, K. Deepak and Madhusudan were present.
