City School’s Project recognised at National-level

Mysuru: A team of young innovators from Excel Public School, Mysuru — Noel Mathew, Nikhil Mahesh Kumar and Vinyas Chandrashekhar — has won National recognition in the recently announced Top Hundred projects in the ‘ATL Innovation Marathon-2018’, organised by NITI Aayog, Government of India.

The project required students not only to design an innovative product, but also found a fictive firm and submit a business proposal to sell that product. The trio, all students of Class 9, won this coveted title for a vertical axis wind turbine, named ‘Power Flower’, which was upgraded using piezo-electric sensors and solar panels. Their fictional firm was named ‘Greenfeathers.in’. The project has been selected under the sub-category ‘Clean Energy.’

Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) of Excel Public School is one among 5,441 ATLs all over the country, and it has already been recognised at the State and National-levels for incubating innovative and creative inventions, and producing innovators and inventors of the future. Excel Public School was also selected as ‘ATL School of the Month’ recently.
