City Urdu poetess at Saudi Arabia Poets’ Meet

Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. Maha Jabeen Nairn Ghazaal (Hindi pen-name “Madhoo”), an erudite Urdu-Hindi poetess, fiction writer and scholar from city, participated in an International Poets’ Meet held in the third week of December at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

She was among four poets invited from India and also the sole woman participant from across the globe at this prestigious event organised by Gulban Organisation, Jeddah.

Poets from the United States, Pakistan and Bahrain, along with local poets from Saudi Arabia, presented their compositions before a large audience. Dr. Maha Jabeen’s poetry received warm appreciation from the audience.

On the occasion, the preview edition of her book “Aayinaa-der-Aayinaa” was released.

The Organising Committee had arranged a pilgrimage (Umrah) to Makkah and Madinah for the participants after the conclusion of the meet.

Before flying to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Maha Jabeen also participated in a State-level Kavi Sammelan organised by Karnataka Urdu Academy at Bengaluru.
