City youth killed as car catches fire at Gundlupet

Gundlupet: A 28-year-old youth from the city was killed in a tragic incident that occurred near Begur Hirikaati Gate in Gundlupet taluk last night.

The victim, identified as Muzammil and the son of Mohammed Wasim, resided in Siddique Nagar. Muzammil was employed as a manager at a restaurant in Siddique Nagar.

The accident occurred between 10.30 pm and 11 pm when the car Muzammil was driving collided with a goods vehicle. Tragically, the car caught fire, leading to Muzammil’s untimely demise.

The Police have registered a case at Begur Police Station, and Chamarajanagar SP Padmini Sahu visited the accident site to assess the situation.

Muzammil’s parents had just completed their Haj pilgrimage. The charred remains of Muzammil were brought back to Mysuru, and today, the burial ceremony took place at the Muslim Burial Grounds near Tipu Circle.
