City’s boxing coach for Asian Championship

New Delhi -Mysore’s very own, national boxing coach C.A. Kuttappa has been selected to accompany the national elite’s men team selected for the upcoming Asian Boxing Championships to be held at Tashkent, Uzbekistan from Apr. 27 to May 8.

Currently at NIS Patiala, the team is headed to Astana, Kazakhstan for training at the AIBA academy ahead of their participation at the Asian Championships.

Kuttappa who has been with the elite men’s team for the past ten years has been selected as coach among five others, for the team consisting of ten boxers, including Olympians Shiva Thapa, Manoj Kumar and Vikas Krishnan.

In the past Kuttappa has trained the Olympian medallist Vijender Kumar and more recently was accompanying the Indian Boxing men’s team that participated at Rio Olympics, 2016.
