City’s Chandan Achar wins SIIMA Award

Mysuru: Chandan Achar of Mysuru has won the South Indian International Movie Award (SIIMA) for Best Supporting Role in the movie Kirik Party starring Rakshit Shetty and Rashmika Mandanna, at a glittering event held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in United Arab Emirates on June 30.

While Rakshit Shetty won the award for the Best Entertainer of Year, Kodagu’s Rashmika Mandanna won the award for Best Debutant (female) for the movie Kirik Party. Rishab Shetty won the award for Best Director (Kirik Party) and lyricist Dhananjay Ranjan won the award for Best Lyrics for the song ‘Belageddu Yaara Mukhava’ from Kirik Party.

Actor Shivarajkumar won the Best Actor award for his role in Shivalinga and Sharddha Srinath was declared the Best Actress (‘U Turn’).

Best Actor (Female) – Shraddha Srinath (U Turn)

Best Director – Rishab Shetty (Kirik Party)

Best Debutant (Female) – Rashmika Mandanna (Kirik Party)

Best Debutant Director – Hemanth M. Rao (Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu)

Best Actor in a Supporting Role – Chandan Achar (Kirik Party)

Best Playback Singer (Male) – Armaan Malik (Sariyaagi Nenapide – Mungaru Male 2)

Best Playback Singer (Female) – Indu Nagraj (Thraas Aakatti – Doddmane Hudga)

Critics Best Actress – Parul Yadav (Killing Veerappan)

Best Lyricist – Dhananjay Ranjan (Belageddu Yaara Mukhava – Kirik Party); Best Entertainer of the Year – Rakshit Shetty
