Celebration of Utkal Divas-2022 and Cauvery Dance Festival
Orissa Association Mysore (OAM), in collaboration with Vishvakshema Trust, Belagola, celebrated Utkal Divas-2022 and inaugural Cauvery Dance Festival in the premises of the ancient temple of Sri Venkateswara and Bhoga Narasimha with consorts Sridevi & Bhudevi, situated on the banks of Cauvery, Srinivasa Kshetra, Belagola, Srirangapatna taluk, Mandya district, on Apr. 24 between 4 pm and 6 pm.
Ubhaya Vedanta Vidwan Shree Viraraghavacharya Swamy, Founder, Acharya Vishvakshema Trust, was the chief guest on the occasion.
Many passionate audiences from Mysuru, Srirangapatna, Belagola, Bengaluru and various places enjoyed the classical Odissi, Bharatanatyam and Mohini Nrutya performed by promising dancers.
Sindhukiran and M.D. Prethi dedicated their Odissi dances to various forms of Lord Vishnu, Sri Jagannath, Powerful Narasimha, Goddesses Lakshmi, Durga and Parvati, while Shree Krupa performed Bharatanatyam and Mohini Nrutya. To maintain the tradition of Hindu Temple culture, the programme was held inside the Natya Mantap of this ancient temple of 11th Century.
This ancient temple, belonging to Government of Karnataka, was found by the members of Orissa Association Mysore in ruined and dilapidated condition and they took up the renovation work with approval of the Deputy Commissioner, Mandya.
