Classical dance treat by Naatya Sabha on Jan.11

Mysuru: Naatya Sabha, Mysuru, has organised a classical dance performance on Saturday, 11th January at Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar from 5.30 pm.

Bharathanatya recitals will be presented by Harshini Purushotham, N.R. Leela and R. Pavankumar while K. Leela Rashmi  will perform Mohiniyattam.

Harshini Purushotham

Harshini is a devoted Bharathanatya danseuse in the lineage of Vasundhara Bani. Her early years of training was under Dr. Rekha Raju. Thereafter, she received advanced training from Dr. Uma Rao and Vidwan Sandesh Bhargav.

Harshini has performed at many prestigious platforms. To name a few — Articulate Festival, Kannada Rajyotsava, Udupi Shri Krishna Mutt, Ramanavami Utsava, International Yoga Day Festival. She is one of the winners of the State-level Bharathanatya competition organised by Bharatheeya Nritya Parishath.

N.R. Leela  

Leela started training in dance at a very young age under Vidwan Keshavkumar Pillai in Shivamogga. Presently, she is obtaining advanced training from Dr. Chethana Radhakrishna. She has completed Vidwat examination and is pursuing Master’s Degree in Bharathanatya at Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music University.

She has performed extensively at various platforms across the country in the cities of Indore, Bhopal, Goa, Mount Abu and many places in Karnataka. She also performed at World Cultural Festival organised by Sri Ravishankar Guruji in Delhi.

R. Pavankumar

Pavan is a disciple of Vidwan R. Kannan and Vidushi Nandini in Bharathanatya. He has completed Vidwat examination conducted by Secondary Board and also Visharad conducted by Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. Presently, he is pursuing MA in Bharathanatya at Music University.

Pavan has given solo performances at many renowned platforms like World Dance Day, Bhushan’s Academy, Ayama Academy, Naatya Taranga Trust, Nrithyalaya, Ananya Kalanikethana, to name a few.

Leela Rashmi 

Leela received training in Bharathanatya at the age of eight from Diayana Sigamani and later on from Vidwan Deepak Kumar. She is also a disciple of Kalamandalam Avani Raj and Mary Bini, who groomed her in Mohiniattam. Guru Ashim Bandhu Bhattacharya imparted training in Kathak. She is a Master’s Degree holder in Bharathanatya from Music University.

Leela Rashmi is a prolific dancer. She has performed for Alva’s Nudisiri; Indo-Asian Academy; Inter-college cultural competitions and at many other prestigious venues.
