Classical Kannada stall

Centre of Excellence for Studies in Classical Kannada of the Central Institute of Indian Languages has set up a stall at the Sammelana, which is attracting the attention of the visitors. The plaque of Halmidi inscription, the oldest known Kannada language inscription in Kannada language welcomes the visitors. The stall displays the evolving of Kannada script right from the time of Ashoka to the Wadiyar dynasty.

A newspaper collector M.A. Venkatesh has collection of Sahitya Sammelanas right from 1970s which he is displaying.

Hawkers are selling the red and yellow shawls at Rs.30. However, the woollen shawl costs Rs.100.
