CM to campaign from Mar. 31

Chief Minister Siddharamaiah will campaign at various ZP constituencies and also address public meetings in Nanjangud from Mar. 31 ahead of by-poll scheduled on Apr. 9.

The Chief Minister will campaign at Badanavalu and Doddakavalande on Mar. 31 and address a public meeting at Doddakavalande. He will visit Kalale and Hura on Apr.2, Heggadahalli and Hullahalli on Apr. 4 followed by campaigning and public meeting at Nanjangud Town on Apr. 6.

DC and SP conduct inspection of vehicles

DC D. Randeep, who is also the District Electoral Officer and SP Ravi D. Channannavar conducted a joint operation to check for vehicles carrying materials, liquor and cash to woo the voters ahead of the by-poll scheduled on Apr. 9.

SP Ravi Channannavar, on suspicion, stopped a motorcycle coming from Mysuru at Nanjangud check post and recovered 65 silver articles from a person. The Police also recovered Rs. one lakh cash being transported in an Innova car at Kavalande check post. The authorities also seized 50 live chickens being transported in Chevrolet Tavera at the same check post between 10 am and 6 pm.

DC Randeep conducted raids on Bars and liquor shops yesterday and booked cases against 5 shops and five persons.

The  DC also booked a case against a person who was found consuming alcohol in public. The officers till now have seized 540 ML whiskey.  Meanwhile, the security personnel deployed at the Nanjangud check post this morning stopped the Deputy Commissioner’s car and conducted a thorough check-up. They also checked other government vehicles passing through the check post.
