To inaugurate Narayana Guru Jayanti at Kalamandira at 11.15 am; two-day Jalapathotsava at Gaganachukki in Mandya at 6 pm
Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate Brahmashri Narayana Guru Jayanti celebration organised by the District Administration in association with Mysuru-Chamarajanagar District Arya Edigara Sangha and Kannada & Culture Department at Kalamandira on Hunsur Road in the city at 11.15 am tomorrow.
Addressing a press meet here yesterday, Sangha President M.K. Potharaj said that a procession, accompanied by folk and cultural troupes will be taken out from Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple at the Palace North Gate to Kalamandira at 8 am tomorrow.
Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the stage programme at Kalamandira at 11.15 am in the presence of Solur Arya Ediga Mutt Seer Sri Vikhyatananda Swamiji and Shivamogga Narayana Guru Mutt Seer Sri Renukananda Swamiji.
Ministers Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, K. Venkatesh and Madhu Bangarappa, MPs Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Sunil Bose and Kota Srinivas Pujari, MLA K. Harishgowda and a host of other political leaders will take part.
Retired Police Officer B.K. Shivaram of Bengaluru will deliver a talk on Narayana Guru, Potharaj said adding that achievers from different fields will be felicitated and Pratibha Puraskar will be presented to meritorious children of the community on the occasion.
Sangha office-bearers Rajashekar Kadamba, K.S. Krishnamurthy, V. Jayanna, T.S. Gopalaswamy, S.T. Raju, K.V. Srikanth, Srinivas Bannur and others were present.
Jalapathotsava: All roads will lead to Gaganachukki Falls in Malavalli for the commencement of the two-day Jalapathotsava starting from tomorrow. The Mandya District Administration has been making last minute arrangements to ensure the event is held successfully.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate Gaganachukki Jalapathotsava at 6 pm. The waterfalls will be specially illuminated during the two-day event apart from cultural programmes by local artistes and musical event by composer Ravi Basrur.
Recently, Shivanasamudra, located near Malavalli, witnessed heavy rush of visitors with the waterfalls coming alive following the release of water from the KRS Dam.
People from Mysuru, Bengaluru, Chamarajanagar and Ramanagara districts are expected to visit the Gaganachukki Falls to have a glimpse of the illuminated waterfalls.
CM’s Sept. 14 itinerary
CM Siddaramaiah will arrive at Mysore Airport in Mandakalli by a special flight from Bengaluru on Sept.14 at 10.55 am. From there he will travel by road to Kalamandira on Hunsur Road, where he will take part in Narayana Guru Jayanti celebrations at 11.15 am.
After completing his other engagements in the city, Siddaramaiah will leave Mysuru by road at 4.30 pm for Gaganachukki Falls along Chamarajanagar-Mandya Districts border in Malavalli taluk, where he will inaugurate the two-day Jalapathotsava at 6 pm. Later, he will return to Bengaluru by road via Malavalli, Maddur and Ramanagara, according to the official schedule.
