February 11, 2018

Mysuru:  The new Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research Hospital, constructed at PKTB Sanatorium premises on KRS Road here at a cost of Rs.210 crore, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddharamaiah on Feb.24.

On the occasion, the CM will launch a new Trauma Centre built on a five acre plot in PKTB Sanatorium premises at a cost of Rs.25 crore, to provide timely and emergency treatment to those injured in accidents. Also, he will lay foundation stone for a Super Specialty Hospital.

The construction of Jayadeva Hospital at PKTB Sanatorium premises began four years ago. It is four storied and a 350-bedded hospital. At present, the 110-bedded Jayadeva Hospital is functioning at K.R. Hospital premises but lacked advanced facilities, which is being provided at its hospital in Bengaluru. But the new hospital will have all facilities pertaining to heart including Open Heart surgeries.

While the State Government had sanctioned Rs.150 crore for the construction, Jayadeva Hospital has spent about Rs.60 crore for machineries and equipment. The new hospital has four Operation Theatres (OT), General Ward, Semi Special, Special and Deluxe Wards.

Provisions for CT Scan, MRI and other facilities have been made and the staff of Jayadeva Hospital in K.R. Hospital premises, including specialists, would be shifted to the new hospital.

This new hospital will be a boon for patients from Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru and surrounding districts.

The construction of the new hospital began in 2014 and was supposed to be completed in 2016, but due to some technical issues the construction works were stalled for about eight months. But now the hospital has overcome all hurdles and is ready for inauguration.
