CM launches installation of LED bulbs for street-lights

Mysore/Mysuru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai yesterday launched the installation of LED bulbs for street-lights by pressing a remote control button  for the lights along Albert Victor road near Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple at the Palace North Gate. The project is aimed at replacing traditional street-light bulbs with power saving LED bulbs in city.

With the installation of LED bulbs, the MCC hopes to save 58.77 percent of power consumption while also saving Rs.8.9 crore on annual power bills.

District Minister S.T. Somashekar, Urban Development Minister Byrathi Basavaraj, MLAs S.A.Ramdas and L. Nagendra, KEA Chairman Hemanth Kumar Gowda, Mayor Sunanda Palanetra, former Mayor Sandesh Swamy and others were present.
