Chamarajanagar: In view of D.K. Shivakumar’s first visit to Chamarajanagar as Chief Minister, the District Administration and Congress Party are making necessary preparations to ensure that CM’s tour will be a smooth and successful affair.

The CM will depart from HAL Airport in Bengaluru at 10 am  on Sept. 30 and reach Kollegal MGSV College Ground Helipad by 11 am. He will return to Bengaluru at 3 pm.

Jinxed district?

Chamarajanagar was long considered as a jinxed district and it was believed that the CMs who visited Chamarajanagar would lose their power.  It was former CM Siddaramaiah, who erased this jinxed tag by visiting Chamarajanagar town more than 20 times as CM  and other places in the district 40 times.

Similarly, the present CM D.K. Shivakumar is also visiting Chamarajanagar district tomorrow. District Congress leaders believe that the visit of Shivakumar will usher in a new era of development in the district.

The District Administration and Taluk Administration have made all arrangements at MGSV College Grounds, Kollegal, the venue of CM’s public meeting. Top ranked officials of the district including the DC and the SP inspected the security, parking of VIP vehicles and protocol arrangements.

The CM will inaugurate development projects worth Rs.500 crore and lay foundation for new projects in Kollegal and Hanur.

Kollegal MLA A.R. Krishnamurthy said that CM Shivakumar will inaugurate several developmental works that were announced for  Chamarajanagar, Hanur and Kollegal taluks at a Special State Cabinet meeting held at Male Mahadeshwara Hills when Siddaramaiah was the Chief Minister.
