Mysuru: Over 600 persons, who had come to meet CM Siddharamaiah to submit petitions and air their grievances at his Sharadadevinagar residence in city this morning, were a disappointed lot as the Police did not allow them anywhere near the CM’s residence.
All roads that led to CM’s house were barricaded as the Police had got information that some BJP activists are planning to show Black Flag to the CM over his comments that BJP and RSS are terrorists. To prevent this, the Police had beefed up security at the CM’s house. Only political leaders who came to meet the CM were allowed inside.

Among the people who met the CM was Corporator Kamala Uday, an aspirant for Mysuru Mayor’s post as it has been reserved for SC woman. She claimed that she has the support of Minister Tanveer Sait.
After Kamala, it was the turn of MLA Vasu to lead a group that supported the candidature of Bhagyavathi for Mayor’s post. Vasu told the CM that Bhagyavathi hailed from Bovi community and it will benefit the community if she was selected as the Mayor. The CM advised both the groups to have a meeting at the local level so that he can take a suitable decision later.
C.H. Vijayashankar to join Congress on Jan. 19
Former BJP MP and State Forest Minister C.H. Vijayashankar will formally join the Congress Party on Jan. 19 at the Party Office in Bengaluru. He met Siddharamaiah at his residence this morning and said that he would join the Congress on that day unconditionally and will expose BJP leaders.
Speaking to reporters, Vijayashankar said that he was fed up of BJP as it does not value sincere workers. “I will expose several BJP leaders and their illegal activities on Jan. 19 in Bengaluru. I will hold a press conference on that day and unmask many of them,” he said.
