Mysore/Mysuru: The 10-day training workshop for examinees attending the Assistant Professors recruitment exam to be conducted by the KPSC began at Jnanabuthi in Lakshmipuram Government High School and PU College premises on JLB road here on Monday.
Speaking after inaugurating the workshop, former Karnataka Folklore University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ambalike Hiriyanna said that studies and tutoring are both vital for youths of today.
Nowadays youths are more inclined towards Science and Commerce subjects rather than Engineering and Technology, he said adding that this is very different from the trend in earlier days when students use to opt for Arts and Kannada subjects.
Stressing on the need for making the youths take interest in literature and allied fields, Prof. Hiriyanna said that the teachers of tomorrow should be well-versed in their subjects and continue to stay updated all the times, as the teaching profession is a challenging one.
