CODE IGNITER: Natl.-level Coding Contests

Mysuru:  The Department of Information Science & Engineering had organised one-day National-level Coding Competition ‘CODE IGNITER – 2017’ in association with Computer Society of India, Bengaluru and Mysuru Chapters at the Seminar Hall of GSSSIETW in city.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. K.C. Gouda,  Senior Scientist,  CSIR C-MMACS, NAL, Bengaluru, Dr. K.A. Sumithra Devi, Principal, GSSSIETW, Mysuru, Dr. Reshma Banu, Professor & Head, Dept. of ISE & Convener, Code Igniter-2017, by offering flowers to Visionary and Founder Secretary late Prof. B.S. Pandit.

Dr. Reshma Banu, Prof. & Head, Dept. of ISE & Convener, Code Igniter-2017, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of ‘CODE IGINTER 2017.’

The event was coordinated by Ayesha Taranum, Asst. Professor, Dept. of ISE & Soumya Dath G, Asst. Professor, Dept. of ISE.

Dr. Gouda addressed the students by emphasising about the importance for such Technical Competition  which provides a platform for students of various streams of IT to showcase their talent, present their own work, share and exchange ideas with their counter parts.

He motivated the students to become entrepreneurs and provide jobs to others. He also advised the students to distinguish themselves with additional skills and express themselves to be successful in their on professional life.

He suggested the students that getting into the job is not the end instead it’s the beginning of the career where one should involve in learning the underlying technologies efficiently.

Safura Zohareen of III Sem ISE proposed a vote of thanks.

After the Inaugural function, around 300 participants from various colleges of Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh participated in the Code Debugging, Project/Business Innovation Ideas, Poster Presentation and Mobile App Development events. Event concluded with the valedictory where winners of each event were presented with cash prize and certificate of appreciation.
