Gonikoppal:  Unable to bear mounting loans, a coffee grower committed suicide by shooting himself yesterday. The incident occurred at Thaila Village near Kutta and Manchalli in Kodagu.

The deceased is 36-year-old Ajjikuttira Vinoj. He left his home yesterday morning and told his family members that he was going to catch some fish. Family members told the Police that Vinoj carried his gun inside his coffee estate and shot himself.

Family members and Police suspect that Vinoj would have taken the extreme step as he had taken loans and was unable to repay. Kutta Police have registered a case.
