Collect water tax as per norms

August 21, 2022

Sir,

The Vani Vilas Water Works (VVWW) is keen in getting the new water meter installed where the old meters are not working. Since last three months, the water tax being collected is doubled and a fine of Rs. 180 is also raised against meters which are not working.

Of late, many residents have installed new meters during July-August 2022. Further, though the new meters are working properly, the VVWW has not stopped collecting fine and double the amount of tax as of 17.8.2022.

I request the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner and VVWW authorities to look into this matter and advise the concerned staff to stop collecting fine. Our request is to see whether new meters are installed and collect water tax as per norms.
