College Day celebrated at Farooqia PU College

Mysuru: Farooqia PU College celebrated its 38th College Day at is premises in Tilak Nagar here recently.

Dr. Nayeema Banu, Eye Specialist at Mahaveer Jain Hospital, Mysuru, who was the chief guest, urged the students to acquire moral values and later distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions.

Dr. Syed Abdul Khuddus, who was the guest of honour, urged the students to inculcate discipline in life and also distributed prizes to winners in various literary, co-curricular activities and Nidgatta Md. Budan Dadajan Memorial Inter-Collegiate Islamic Oral    Quiz Competition. Prof. M. Sayeed Ahmed, Hon. Secretary of the College presented the Best Athlete Award instituted by Dr. Sultana Jabeen to Raheed Shariff and thanked late A.S. Sardar family for instituting scholarship to meritorious students of both 1st and 2nd PUC of  Farooqia PU College. Prof. Afroz Ahmed and Prof. Syed Nasir Hassan, Governing Council Members, distributed prizes to winners of sports competition.

Prof. Riyaz Ahmed, President of RMET, Mysuru, presided over the function. In his address, he complimented the students for bagging prizes in various sports, cultural activities and meritorious awards in 2017 2nd PU annual examination and presented  Nazeer  Ahmed maiden cash prize to Saifulla Khan, the highest scorer in Mathematics besides presenting special cash prize to Sauban Khan, who took part in the District-Level Wrestling Competition and won prizes.

Earlier, the function commenced with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Zoha Binte Abdul Wahid welcomed the gathering.

Abdul Jabbar, Principal of the College, presented a detailed report on the activities of the College for the year 2017-18 and distributed prizes to College topper and subject topper awards in 2017 April Examination and Best Athlete Shield to Rehana Ainain.

Faculty members Sadiya Gazala, Shahjahan Begum, Khalida Nusrath, Dr. Shavana Shabreen and Syeda Fathima Azra gave away cash prizes in their respective subjects. The function concluded with a vote of thanks by Haleema Sadiya.
