College student killed in road mishap

A motorcycle rider was killed on the spot, while the pillion rider sustained serious injuries, when the motorcycle they were riding, rammed into a KSRTC bus near MUDA Circle on JLB road here last night.

The deceased has been identified as Santosh (23), of Anamballi in Nanjangud taluk.

Pillion rider Dhananjay of Maddur has been admitted to K.R. Hospital. Both were post-graduate students of JSS College on Ooty Road in the city.

Santosh and Dhananjay were travelling on a bike (KA55/H1760) from Metropole Circle towards Ramaswamy Circle on JLB road at about 9.30 pm, when Santosh who was said to be the rider, rammed the bike into a KSRTC bus that was moving ahead, in an attempt to overtake it near MUDA Circle.

While Santosh died on the spot, Dhananjay who sustained serious injuries, was rushed to K.R. Hospital. K.R. Traffic Police have registered a case in  this regard.
