Mysore/Mysuru: The inoculation drive against COVID-19 for the senior citizens in India is on and Columbia Asia Hospital Mysuru has become a part of the ongoing vaccination drive. People above the age of 60 and anyone above the age of 45 with comorbidities can now receive vaccination at this Hospital.

Talking about the vaccination drive, Dr. Gautam Das, General Manager,  Columbia Asia Hospital, said “We have started the vaccination for people aged over 60 and for people aged between 45-59 with co-morbidities. As many senior citizens are eagerly waiting to get vaccinated, this drive will bring their wait to an end. The Covid-19 vaccine for senior citizens will be voluntary, however it is advisable to take the complete course of vaccination to gain immunity against the virus and limiting the spread of virus.”

After receiving the first dose, Dr. Sultana Jabeen, retired Professor of Economics, said “Columbia Asia was my preferred hospital for the vaccination drive as it has been my regular place for health-related needs. When they started the drive, I registered and now I have got the first jab of vaccine.”

“There was no discomfort or pain after we were injected. We were asked by the hospital to wait for half-an-hour in the waiting lounge for observation.  The entire process was made hassle-free for the senior citizens. I would like to appreciate the coordination of all the doctors and staff at the hospital,” said Dr. Sultana Jabeen, who took the jab along with her husband Jamsheed Jah, retired AEE, PWD.
