Complaint lodged against four persons for threatening businessman

Mysuru: A businessman has lodged a complaint against four persons at Devaraja Police Station for barging into his shop and threatening his life. While the businessman has been identified as Amar Singh, proprietor of My Tarpaulins on Devaraj Urs Road, the persons against whom he has lodged a complaint, has been identified as Lakshminarayan, Roopa, Kumar and Gururaj.

In his complaint, Amar Singh has stated that he had given the shop on lease to one Santosh and Lakshminarayan after receiving Rs. 10 lakh as the lease amount six years ago and Santosh had passed away sometime ago.

He has further stated that as the lease period expired, he had returned the lease amount last year, took possession of the shop and has been running the business. But Suresh, his wife Roopa and Lakshminarayan then began to pester him to give them Rs. 30 lakh, which they claim to have given to Amar Singh to run the business, for which Amar Singh had refused.

On Sept. 11 at about 9 pm, Lakshminarayan, Roopa, Kumar and Gururaj, barged into the shop and created ruckus, besides catching hold of Amar Singh’s brother Pradeep Singh by the collar, abused him using foul language besides threatening their lives, stated Amar Singh in the complaint.

Devaraja Police, who have booked cases under IPC Section 1860 (U/S – 341, 504, 506, 34) are investigating.
