Computer knowledge must for Government employees

Bengaluru: By making an amendment to Karnataka State Citizens Act and issuing its notification, the State Government has made the computer knowledge compulsory for all its employees.

According to the amendment, Government employees are not eligible for annual increment and promotion if they fail to pass the computer skill examination before December 31, 2022.

 The State Government in 2012 had amended a law to provide employees 10 years of time to pass the computer exam. It has passed an amendment now setting a final deadline.
