Ganabharathi has organised a vocal concert by R. Ashwath Narayanan at its premises in Kuvempunagar here on Mar. 24 at 6 pm.

He will be accompanied by Vid. Mattur Srinidhi on violin, Vid. Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma on mridanga and Vid. Sunad Anoor on ghata.

This programme is organised in memory of late Desiraju Venkatanarasimha Rao and late Tripurasundaramma.

Artiste’s Profile

Ashwath Narayanan was initiated into music at the age of 4 by his mother Jayanthi Rajagopal. He then learnt under Jayalakshmi Sundararajan. Later he continued his tutelage under Sangeetha Kalanidhi Palghat K.V. Narayanaswamy (KVN). After the demise of  KVN, Ashwath has been learning under Padma Narayanaswamy since 10 years. He is currently pursuing his 4th year in B.Tech (Industrial Biotechnology) in SASTRA University, Thanjavur.

A “B-graded” artiste in the All India Radio, Chennai, he has been performing in all the leading Sabhas like Narada Gana Sabha, Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Bharat Kalachar, Naada Inbam, Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam (TTD), Brahma Gana Sabha, Vani Mahal, Gana Mukundapriya, Tyagaraja Vidwath Samajam, etc., both in their monthly series and during the season. He has also performed outside Chennai in all the leading Sabhas of the country.

He has received many awards, recognitions and scholarships like CCRT Scholarship.
