Mysuru: Vidu. Anagha Yoganand, a young vocalist from Bengaluru, will be presenting a Karnatak vocal concert at the heritage house of Mysore Vasudevacharya in city on June 21.
She will be accompanied by Vid. Vishwajith Mattur on violin and Vid. Mysore A. Radhesh on mridanga. The concert, organised by Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira, Bengaluru, is scheduled to start at 10.30 am. [Mob: 98802-55920]
Vidu. Anagha hails from a family of musicians and has taken to music from a very young age, be it singing, playing the violin or the harmonium. She carries forward the rich legacy of her great grandfather G. Vedanta Iyengar, the visionary founder of Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira. Her first gurus were her grand aunts Karnataka Kalashree G.V. Ranganayakamma and Vidu. G.V. Neela. She has been later guided by eminent teachers like Vidu. Neela Ramgopal and Vid. H.S. Sudhindra. In tandem with music, she is a student of Psychology and is pursuing her Master’s in the field.
Vid. Vishwajith is a disciple of Vid. Hosahalli K. Subbarao and Vid. Hosahalli V. Raghuram, belonging to the Lalgudi School. He has learnt vocal music from Vidu. Rajeshwari Nagendra Prakash and Vid. R.N. Thyagarajan. He has been performing and accompanying senior musicians for the past 16 years across the country and abroad.
Vid. Radhesh is a leading mridangist and has been performing with senior artistes for over a decade.
