May 10, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: DDPI H.K. Pandu has attributed the drastic improvement in SSLC results in the district to the concerted efforts of all those in the Department of School Education and Literacy.

Following the task set by the Chief Minister at Karnataka Development Programmes (KDP) progress review meeting, the district team executed the task well under the directions of District Minister, Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat.

Exam Nodal Officer Nirupa Wesley and all others on board the District Team burnt midnight lamp to the implement the action plan.  Besides, Primary School Teachers Association, High School Teachers Association, Head Masters Association, Non-Teaching Faculty Association also extended their cooperation, not to forget the efforts made by all Block Education Officers (BEO), Head Masters and Assistant Head Masters, he said thanking them all for the results.

Similar preparation is in place for this year’s exams too, with 80 percent of the text books already received and will be distributed in a few days time.

Reason for dip in State results by 10 percent

Meanwhile, the fall in overall results in SSLC exams in the State by 10 percent compared to previous year is believed to be due to the stringent measures taken to check exam malpractices.

According to Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB), the overall pass percentage this year is 73.40 which is down by more than 10 percent as compared to last year’s 83.89 percent.

KSEAB authorities are of the view that, the incorporation of technology to monitor the class rooms during exams through CCTV cameras and webcasting, in all the districts in the State may have helped in preventing the possibilities of malpractices.
