Cong. protests rising fuel prices

February 15, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: Strongly condemning the rising prices of fuel, LPG and other essential commodities, Congress workers led by former K.R. MLA M.K. Somashekar staged a demonstration at RTO Circle on JLB road here this morning.

Addressing the protestors, he ridiculed Prime Minister Modi for his ‘Achhe Din’ promise. Somashekar claimed that fuel prices have risen by over 40 percent and the price of a LPG cylinder (cooking gas) has more than doubled in the past few years.

Alleging that the Centre’s policies and actions have severely affected the daily  life of  middle and lower middle classes, he urged the Government to come up with an action plan to bring down prices and thus rescue the common man, who is already reeling under adverse effects of COVID-19 crisis. Congress workers overturned a scooter and a cylinder to register their protest.
