Mysuru: In a bid to galvanise the party ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, the District Congress has intensified its membership drive.
Addressing a press meet at Jaladarshini Guest House on Hunsur Road here this morning, Mysuru District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijay Kumar said the party membership drive has been intensified following directions from AICC President Rahul Gandhi. The drive is aimed at enrolling at least 60,000 new members from each Assembly segment across the country, he said.
Explaining the membership process, Dr. Vijay Kumar said one can become member of the party by sending an SMS message along with his/her voter ID card (EPIC Card) Number to Mob: 70450-06100.
Minutes after sending the message, the sender will get an acknowledgement of the membership, he said and appealed the public to join the party. DCC office-bearers Maruti, Yedadore Manjunath, Manchanahalli Raghu and others were present.
