Congress is to blame for India’s inflation: Dr. Ashwathnarayan

June 15, 2026

Mysuru: BJP MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan blamed the Congress for rising prices of essential commodities and food items, and claimed that fuel supply disruptions linked to the ongoing West Asia conflict would not have arisen had the country not been partitioned.

Addressing a press conference at a private hotel here this morning, he said the Congress Government in Karnataka was responsible for the increase in prices of essential goods in State.

Highlighting the achievements of the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken several measures to control inflation during the global crisis.

“PM Modi has completed 12 years in office because of the trust reposed in NDA by the people. Welfare schemes and benefits are reaching beneficiaries directly at their doorstep,” he said.

The former Deputy CM said the Union Government had accelerated development works, including railway electrification, airport modernisation and welfare measures for farmers under the Kisan Samman Scheme.

He said loans worth Rs. 40 lakh crore had been extended to beneficiaries under MUDRA Scheme and that the Centre had given priority to education sector.

Commenting on the Congress Government in Karnataka, Dr. Ashwathnarayan said Ministers had started expressing dissatisfaction over portfolio allocation within hours of the Cabinet formation. “It remains to be seen how the Government functions in the coming days,” he said.

KR Constituency MLA T.S. Srivatsa, City BJP President L. Nagendra, District President Kumbralli Subbanna, former MP Prathap Simha, former Mayors Sandesh Swamy and Shivakumar, former Deputy Mayor Shylendra, BJP Minority Morcha President Dr. Anil Thomas and others were present.
