Congress, JD(S) share Standing Committees Chairpersons posts in MCC

Mysuru: The Chairpersons for all the four Standing Committees of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) were elected unopposed yesterday with the ruling Congress and JD(S) members equally sharing the posts (two each).

Shobha of Congress (Ward 61) was elected as Chairperson of Taxation, Finance and Appeals Standing Committee, while Usha also of Congress (Ward 5) was elected as Chairperson of Accounts and Audit Standing Committee, C. Ramesh (Ramani) of JD(S) (Ward 24) was elected as the Chairman of Public Health, Education and Social Justice Standing Committee and B. Lakshmi of JD(S) (Ward 1) was elected as Chairperson of Town Planning and Reforms Standing Committee.

The members to all the four Standing Committees were also elected unopposed on Nov.17, following the Mayoral polls.

Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Dy. Mayor Shafi Ahmed, MCC Commissioner K.H. Jagadeesha, In-charge Additional Commissioner Shivananda Murthy and other officials were present.
