Nanjangud: As part of the party’s plans for expanding its support base, the Congress on Saturday launched digital membership drive at Nandi Conventional Hall in Nanjangud town on Saturday.

Speaking after launching the drive, KPCC Working President and former MP R. Dhruvanarayan said that the Government has no guts to conduct ZP and TP polls on time.

Maintaining that Hijab row has attracted global attention, he said that the row is a matter of shame to peace-loving Karnataka.

Pointing out that digital membership campaign has been launched across the country following instructions from Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Dhruvanarayan said that the campaign coupled with the training programme, has been launched in keeping with the digital times.

Asking the party workers right from booth-level to take the membership drive seriously, he said they must make maximum efforts to take all sections and communities into confidence.

Noting that the KPCC has set a target of enrolling 60 lakh new members during the drive, he said that the Nanjangud Assembly segment has been set a target of enrolling 2,500 members. The bigger the membership drive, the more the chances of Congress returning to power in the State, the former MP added.
