Congress leader Vidyashree murder case: Accused husband remanded to judicial custody

Mysore/Mysuru: A City Court has remanded the husband of deceased Congress leader Vidyashree to judicial custody.

He is accused of hitting his wife with a hammer in a fit of rage resulting in her death at his house in Turuganur in Bannur hobli on May 20 night. He had gone absconding after the incident.

Bannur Police, who traced his hideout near Maddur on May 22 evening, had brought him to the Police Station for questioning. During interrogation, the accused is said to have told the Police that his wife used singular words to abuse him and snatched his mobile phone and threw it. And in a fit of rage, he picked up a hammer and hit her, thus killing her.

After completing the interrogation process, Nandeesh was produced before a Court on Thursday afternoon, which remanded him to 14 days judicial custody, Police said.
