Constable drowns in temple pond

Begur: A Constable attached to Begur Police Station, who had been to Mattitaleshwari Temple in Malavalli Taluk in Mandya district along with his family, was drowned in the temple pond after he slipped and fell into it.

The deceased Constable has been identified as Chandrashekar (30), a native of Kabbahalli village in the taluk.

Chandrashekar, after reaching the temple with his family, proceeded to take a bath in the temple pond when he accidentally slipped and fell into the pond resulting in his death.

Chandrashekar, who joined the Police Department in 2009 was recently transferred from Kollegal Police Station to Begur Police Station where he was serving as a Constable. He leaves behind his wife Pooja and a son.
