Construction workers convention on Oct.30

Mysore/Mysuru: The Karnataka Construction and other Unorganised Workers Association has organised a one-day convention of construction workers at Kunigal in Tumakuru district on Oct. 30.

Announcing this at a press meet here on Sunday, Association State President K.S. Venkatasubbaiah said that the convention will be held at GKBMS School premises in Kunigal town. The convention will discuss various issues concerning the unorganised labour sector and draw the attention of the Government towards their problems.

Association District President L. Krishna, who also addressed the press meet, alleged that officials in Mysuru were not allowing local street vendors to conduct business and instead were allowing outsiders.

Accusing the officials of indulging in corruption, he sought action against corrupt officials who were encouraging unauthorised street vendors.

Association office-bearers Suresh, Revanna Nayak, Kumaraswamy and others were present at the press meet.
