Contract Pourakarmikas demand regularisation

March 12, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Accusing the authorities of dropping two of their colleagues from the list of selected civic workers, over 40 contract Pourakarmikas under the banner of ‘Mysuru City Corporation Aggrieved Contract Pourakarmikas Association,’ staged a demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here this morning seeking their reinstatement as regular pourakarmikas.

Maintaining that two pourakarmikas — Chinnaswamy and Armugam — had been selected by the authorities following a notification for appointment of vacant regular pourakarmika posts in the MCC in 2018, the protestors alleged that the two  were dropped from the list due to official apathy and demanded that they be restored of their benefits and facilities.

The aggrieved pourakarmikas Armugam and Chinnaswamy, office-bearers of various Associations Madhuvana Chandru, Mahadeva, M. Mahadeva, N.P. Gurudutt, P. Manjunath, S. Nagaraj and others were present.
