Case registered against 12 youths
Mysuru: Narasimharaja (NR) Police have registered an FIR against 12 youths for threatening Police on bandobust duty during the procession of Sri Durgadevi and assaulting a Police Constable.
On March 31st night, a procession was organised by Sri Durgadevi Temple during which a fight erupted between two groups when the procession neared Shivayogi 3rd Main Road in Gandhinagar.
When a Constable intervened to stop the quarrel, a few youths abused the Constable using foul language, caught hold of his uniform and began to push him around besides threatening to pelt stones on N.R. Police Station just like stones were pelted on Udayagiri Police Station.
Meanwhile, the Constable’s colleagues, who were also on bandobust duty, rescued the Constable with the help of locals.
Based on the complaint, N.R. Police have registered a FIR against 12 youths including Madesh, Girish alias Blade, Ravikumar, Kiran alias Bathu, Raghavendra, Dada, Keerthi and Nagendra on Apr. 1.
All the 12 accused have gone absconding and the Police have launched a hunt to nab them, said N.R. Inspector Lakshmikanth Talawar to Star of Mysore.
