Cops groomed on NDPS Act

Mysuru: As part of the ‘Special drive on drug abuse’ launched by the city Police, a workshop was held on Monday at the Conference Hall in the premises of the office of IGP (Southern Range) here.

Police personnel of all wings participated in the workshop who were groomed by Resource Persons on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Lecturers of a few Colleges too participated in the workshop who could create an awareness on drug abuse among the students. The workshop was inaugurated by City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subramayeswara Rao. DCPs N. Vishuvardhana, Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and others were present.

Workshop on POCSO Act

A workshop on Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was also held later in the evening. The participants were groomed on investigating cases under POCSO Act and harassment on SC/ST. Addl. Dist. and Sessions Judge Jayasri interacted with the Police officers.
