Mysore/Mysuru: The District Police, led by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shivakumar, have seized a vehicle which was transporting sand illegally near Kamanakere Hundi in the taluk on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip off, the Police team, which conducted an operation on Tuesday night, stopped a Ashok Leyland goods vehicle near Kamanakere Hundi and on inspection, the Police found that it was transporting sand illegally. Soon after the Cops stopped the vehicle, the driver fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind.

Dy.SP Sumeet and staff Srinivas and Ramprasad took part in the operation. A case against the vehicle owner and driver has been registered at Mysuru Rural Police Station.
