Vedike warns Opposition against unfairly targetting CM Siddaramaiah
Mysore/Mysuru: Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagruta Vedike President K.S. Shivaramu has alleged rampant corruption and maladministration within the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) during 2021, when the BJP Government, led by B.S. Yediyurappa, was in power.
Speaking at a public debate on MUDA scams organised by the Vedike and other groups near Gandhi Square in city yesterday, Shivaramu revealed that the Vedike had submitted a detailed complaint to the Government in 2021, along with supporting records and had called for a CBI investigation then into the allegations which however went unresponsive.
Shivaramu criticised the BJP and JD(S) for using MUDA scam as a tool to target Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, accusing them of seeking cheap publicity. He warned that if the BJP and JD(S) did not cease their campaign against Siddaramaiah, the AHINDA (Alpasankyatha, Hindulida, and Dalita) communities would revolt against them.
The Vedike had invited State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra to participate in the public debate on July 26, but he did not attend. Shivaramu stated that the Vedike would not tolerate any attempts to unseat Siddaramaiah and condemned the Opposition for their repeated attempts to tarnish his image.
He cautioned that if the BJP and JD(S) continued to demand Siddaramaiah’s resignation over the alleged MUDA scam and pursued their malicious campaign, they would face a backlash from the backward communities.
The event was attended by various leaders, including DSS leaders Chunchanahalli Mallesh, Rajashekar and Shivalingaiah, Minorities leaders Nasir and Rahim, Responsible Citizen Voice Vedike President M.F. Khalim, District Kumbara Sangha President H.S. Prakash, Madivala Association President Ravinandan, Uppara Sangha President Yogesh Uppar, Congress leader N.R. Nagesh, backward communities leaders Lokesh Madapura, Keshava, Sunil Narayan, Ravi Nazarbad, Manjula, Mangala, Malathi and others.
