Mysuru: A couple reportedly committed suicide by hanging at their house in city on Saturday night.

The deceased are Madhava Nayak (57), a postman and his wife Usha (51), residents of Vijayanagar 3rd Stage in city.

A native of Kukkaje in Sullia of Dakshina Kannada, Madhava Nayak had served in Sonangeri, Mangaluru and other places and was residing in Mysuru since three years. The couple had got their daughter Aishwarya married last year and the reason for them to take the extreme step is yet to be ascertained.

Vijayanagar Police have registered a case.
