Couple embarks on Tirupati padayatra to link Ganga-Cauvery Rivers

Mysore/Mysuru: A couple from Mysuru has embarked on a padayatra to Tirumala-Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh demanding interlinking of Ganga-Cauvery rivers and effective steps to check spreading of COVID-19 pandemic.

C. Manjunath, a retired employee of Vikrant Tyre and his wife, Ratna Manjunath started the padayatra after offering special puja at Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple in city yesterday. The couple is planning to walk at least 45 kms daily. They are expected to reach Tirupati on Dec. 1, after night halting at various places. 

This couple has the distinction of undertaking padayatra during every KarthikaMaasa with one message. So far, they have done 27 padayatras. This time, the theme of their padayatra is interlinking of Ganga-Cauvery and COVID-19 pandemic.
