Mysore/Mysuru: A pregnant cow died on the spot after it reportedly stepped on a live power cable near JSS Layout on Kalyangiri Main Road here this morning.

The cow, worth about Rs. 1 lakh, belonged to Savitha, wife of Narayana and a resident of Raghavendranagar in city.

Narayana, a retired employee of MyMUL, had purchased four cows and was selling the milk for a living.

This morning at about 8.30, Narayana, after milking the cow, was taking it for grazing, when it stepped on the snapped live wire close to the CESC Office on Kalyangiri Main Road and was electrocuted.

CESC staff, who rushed to the spot, have repaired the snapped power cable. Savitha has lodged a complaint at Nazarbad Police Station and the Police personnel, visited the spot and conducted mahazar.
