Mysuru: “Credit Co-operative Societies must expand their activities for achieving growth” said District Co-operative Union President H.V. Rajeev.
He was speaking after inaugurating a day-long training programme for President and CEOs of Credit Co-operative Societies of the district at Suvarna Sahakara Soudha on Chamaraja Double Road here on Tuesday.
Maintaining that the co-op sector plays a key role in the society’s economy, he underlined the role of Credit Co-operative Societies in taking forward the economic growth of the Society.
Noting that the Co-operative Sector has grown rapidly across the country over the years, Rajeev said that the societies must work for adding more number and expand activities for growth.
Emphasising on the need for the Co-operative Sector to transform itself in accordance to the changing times, he advised the societies to adapt themselves to changing tax regimes and rules and regulations, in order to save themselves from going into oblivion.
Mysuru District Co-operative Union Director Abdul Mujeeb, CEO G.M. Channabasappa, Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies Dr. G. Umesh, Karnataka Institute of Co-operative Management Principal K. Chandrashekhar and others were present.
