Cricket betting: 13 arrested, Rs. 60,900 stake money seized

Mysuru, Apr. 21 (KS)- The City Crime Branch (CCB) Police, who raided two places on Apr. 18 and 19, have arrested 13 persons on charges of indulging in cricket betting and have seized Rs. 60,900 betting amount from them.

In the first raid, which took place on Apr. 18 at a house in Nadanahalli, coming under Alanahalli Police Station limits, the Police arrested Mohan of Teachers’ Colony, Sandeep of Yeraganahalli, Mahesh of Alanahalli, B. Prakash of JSS Layout, Sagar of Alanahalli village, Gagandeep of SVP Nagar, Eshwar Rao of Siddarthanagar and Pramod of Kuvempunagar, who were indulging in cricket betting and have seized Rs. 53,870 betting amount, 10 mobile phones, two Diaries, Samsung LED TV, four two-wheelers and other items from them.

A case has been registered at Alanahalli Police Station in this regard.

In the second raid,  which was conducted on Apr. 19 at a house in Hebbal 1st Stage, the CCB Police have arrested Thammaiah and D.M. Santosh of Dinka village in Pandavapura taluk, R. Praveen of Seethapura, M. Abhishek of Manchegowdanakoppal and Manjunath of Pandavapura, who were indulging in cricket betting and have seized Rs. 7,030 betting amount, 11 mobile phones, one Onida TV, 3 two wheelers and other items from them. A case has been registered at Hebbal Police Station in this regard.

CCB ACP C. Gopal supervised, CCB Inspector J.C. Raju, ASIs L. Shubashchandra, R. Raju and staff Lakshmikanth, Ravikumar, Jeevan, Rajesh and Police personnel from Alanahalli and Hebbal Police Stations in the raid and seizing operations.
