Crime Prevention Month: Series of awareness street plays begin in city

December 26, 2017

Mysuru: The series of street plays envisaged by the city Police in association with Rural Literary and Health Programme (RLHP) as part of Crime Prevention Month commenced this morning in city.

The street plays are aimed at creating awareness among people on increasing crimes on women and children.

About 14 members of RLHP enacted the street play at the premises of K.R. Hospital and City Bus Stand. Interestingly, about 200 people keenly witnessed the play which focussed on female foeticide, dowry deaths, child labour, child abuse and many more relevant topics.

People were also made aware of the helplines for children (1098), women (1091) and senior citizens (1090). The play was effectively supported by music. The script was by Shivaraj of RLHP.

City crime Branch inspector Rajashekar monitored the play.

A street play will be staged at Nimra Mosque Ground in Udayagiri and at Tent Circle in Kyathamaranahalli between 3 pm and 6 pm.
