December 17, 2018

Mandya:  A decomposed carcass of a crocodile was found in Bangaradoddi Canal at Srirangapatna.

A few youths, who had gone for a swim in the canal, found the crocodile carcass and informed the Forest Department officials.

It is suspected that the carcass may have been swept away in the rivers from Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary and the crocodile must have died about four days ago. The croc is about 2.25 mts. long and is said to be about six-year-old. Forest Department officials visited the spot. Veterinarian Dr. Manjunath conducted post-mortem. A case has been registered at Srirangapatna Police Station in this regard.
